Rotem is a Progressive Black/ Death Metal one man band that was forged during the summer of 2012 in Loures, Portugal.

In that same year Rotem's first demo "Humanity's Fall" was recorded and sent to labels, in the beginning of 2013 portuguese independent label Ethereal Sound Works added Rotem to it's roster of artists.

In 2014 after a long period of composing and recording since the release of the demo Rotem's debut album "Dehumanization", an ode to mankind's ability to destroy themselves is released. A chaotic, furacious and raw blackened death metal that destroys any hope of a better future for man.

In 2015, with the partnership of Egg of Nihilism Productions "Dehumanization" is released in tape format in the 17th of February, also during that month and March the second work is recorded, "Nightmare Forever" (EP) and is released in June by Rot'em Records and in tape format by egg of nihilism productions. A work present a entrance to horros and nightmares, sound wise a step up from its previous predecessor, more groovy and death metal oriented.

in 2016 "nightmare forever" is also re-released in canada by WHY gang records and in new zealand by satanica productions. in january the recording process for the second full lenght or third work of rotem begins. the album will be entitled "nação valente e imortal".

21, january 2017 the third work and second full lenght is released, "nação Valente E Imortal" an opus to the portuguese people and its past history and glory and their current days. completely sung in rotem's native language  portuguese (from portugal), a honest attempt to create a "portuguese sound". an epic opera that fuses classical inspirations (orchestrations, choirs and ensembles) with death metal, black metal and heavy metal. full of melodies, heavyness, grooves and even clean parts.
